"Although our scores were a bit off of what we are capable of, I thought each of guys showed flashes of what will eventually be really good golf this spring.
A huge part of scoring is the short game, and it typically is the part of the golf game that rounds into form last. It was quite evident in these three rounds, and as our midwestern spring weather improves and as we can get outside for weeks at a time, so will our short game improve.
In such a strong tournament, led by some of the best teams in the Deep South, our main goal is to see where we need to get if we want to be a golf team that can compete nationally.
We have some great young guys leading our team, and I do believe a trip like this cements their bonds and shows the areas where we need to improve and where they need to lead. I am quite happy with what I saw this weekend, and I am looking forward to seeing where they will take us this spring."
- Carthage will play in the Illinois Wesleyan Invite on Friday, April 5.
