KENOSHA, Wis. - The Carthage women's track & field team hosted the Tadd Metzger Invitational at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center on Friday and Saturday. The Firebirds soared to victory for the second time this season, scoring points throughout the Invite.

Kylie Smith won the 1,000m with a time of 3:17.03. Kaitlyn Jerbi placed second in 3:24.16. Aubrey Broz placed sixth, as the trio earned 22 points for Carthage.

Aubrey Schoeneman won the shot put with a throw of 13.86m. Alyssa Gulsvig took second at 13.22m. Madison Payne placed fifth at 12.33m, with Mikayla Wright taking sixth at 12.20m.Jackie Tuzil placed eighth. The Firebirds totaled 28 points in the event.

Alexis Mattox won the weight throw with a mark of 17.59m. Schoeneman took second at 15.98m, while Nicole Tarpley took third at 15.64m. Dora Dill placed fifth, while Payne took sixth, and Gulsvig placed eighth.

Julie Heinrichs won the 800m with a 2:30.73 performance. 

Anna Kegel placed second in the long jump with a jump of 5.39m. Christina Hall placed third at 5.27m. Emma Kreuziger placed sixth, with Jadynn Kramer placing seventh. 

Smith placed second in the 3,000m with a time of 10:58.87. Jerbi placed seventh in 11:36.28.

Abbey Calhoun placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 10.93m, while Emma Kreuziger placed sixth, and Jadynn Kramer placed seventh. .

Kylie Florance placed second in the mile, finishing in 5:31.55.

Charlotte Monroe placed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.50m. Emma Lippens placed sixth at 1.40m.

Julia Kraus placed third in the pentathlon with 2,353 points, with her top event being the 55m hurdles where she registered 657 points. Grace Nisius placed fourth with 2,317 points, which was highlighted by the performance in the high jump where she scored 534 points.

Kegel placed third in the 200m dash with a 27.70 second performance. Hall placed seventh in 28.43. 

Mandy Nelson placed third in the 400m by finishing in a personal best 1:02.76. Sarah Kerfin placed seventh.

Florance placed third in the 600m in 1:57.22. Leela Desharnais placed fourth in 1:57.22. Kenzie Egert placed fifth, with Elizabeth Eck placing sixth and Claire Guenther taking seventh place. The group scored a combined 20 points for the Firebirds.

The 4x400m relay team, which showcased Caitlyn Hodgins, Tara Schaalma, Lili Bednarek, and Jill Forgac, placed third in a combined 4:29.06. 

Schaalma placed fourth in the 55m hurdles with a 9.35 second performance. Monroe placed eighth.

Hodgins placed sixth in the 55m dash with a time of 7.75 seconds. Shea Voegtle placed seventh in 7.76 seconds.



"When you have over 30 lifetime best performances in one day you know it was a great meet," said Head Coach Stephanie Domin. "I am proud of the energy and competitiveness the team brought today. It was a total team effort."



Women's track & field is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 10 as the team heads to UW-Whitewater for the Midwest Elite Invitational.
