Matt Popino proudly announces the addition of two esteemed coaches, Jeff Duvendeck and Adam Weber, to his coaching staff.
Jeff Duvendeck is a seasoned professional with an impressive 23-year coaching career. Duvendeck's coaching journey is adorned with significant achievements, including a DII National Championship, GLIAC Championship, and a Big Ten Championship.
With nine years as a head coach and twelve as an offensive coordinator, Duvendeck brings a wealth of experience in coaching, recruiting, and developing college-level athletes. His recent role as Offensive Line Coach at St. Thomas University contributed to their successful transition from DIII to FCS, securing the Pioneer League Championship in 2022.
Duvendeck's coaching prowess is evident in his track record, which includes guiding teams to conference championships and playoff appearances and mentoring numerous All-Americans and NFL players.
"Jeff comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge to our staff," said head coach Matt Popino. "He's a hard worker, intelligent, and caring coach. That has the best interest of his student-athletes. We are thrilled to have him on our team here at Carthage."
Weber, an accomplished coach with an extensive background in football, joins the Firebirds with a proven track record and a wealth of experience.
Weber's recent roles at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Rutgers University showcase his versatility and dedication to team success. As SPTC/Defensive Backs Coach and Linebackers Coach at Fairleigh Dickinson, he demonstrated expertise in game day, practice, office, and recruiting tasks. His contributions included identifying opponent schemes, making in-game adjustments, and playbook creation.
Before his time at Fairleigh Dickinson, Weber played a crucial role at Rutgers University as an Offensive Quality Control Coach, contributing to in-game decision-making, practice organization, and scout team activities. His attention to detail and utilization of advanced tools like XOS and Pro Football Focus showcased his dedication to enhancing team performance.
Weber's coaching journey also includes valuable experiences at Ohio State University and impactful contributions at the high school level.
"Coach Weber and I enjoyed working together at Rutgers," commented Popino. "Over that time, I saw his knowledge, work ethic, and passion for the game and the players. Adam will be instrumental to our team and culture here at Carthage."
