NEW ORLEANS - Carthage College men's track and field student-athletes
Chase Upmann and
Joseph White have been named to the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-Region List announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the regular season.
Chase Upmann, a senior from Rockford, Ill., recently broke the 800m school record with a clocked time of 1:52.48 at the Drake Alternative, which Wisconsin-Whitewater hosted. Upmann holds three school records at Carthage. "Holding three school records is quite incredible considering where he was as a freshman. His development has been truly incredible," commented head coach
Josh Henry.Â
Joseph White collected all-region honors in two events; shot put and hammer throw. On Thursday, White, from Kenosha, Wis., threw the 13th farthest throw in NCAA History at the Augustana Twilight. White threw a mark of 18.69 breaking the school record for the event. "Joseph had a monster throw at Augustana," added Henry. "This is definitely a confidence boost and great momentum heading into the NCAA Championships."Â
