WHITEWATER, Wis. — The Carthage College men's track and field team competed at the Drake Alternative hosted by Wisconsin-Whitewater, the final tune-up before the conference outdoor meet. Senior Chase Upmann broke the 800m school record on the day, taking first in the event at Whitewater.
*School Record

"We had another really strong day today, and you can really see the pieces coming together.
The highlight of the day was obviously Chase's school record of 1:52.48 in the 800m. He now holds three school records at Carthage, which is quite incredible considering where he was as a freshman. His development has been truly incredible, and we're not done yet.
Another nice development was Jarvis posting a season-best of 13.91m in the triple jump. His mark currently ranks 9th in school history.
Mac also joined the history-making club today with his 100m time of 10.93. That currently puts him in a tie for 10th place in school history.
We also saw a crazy amount of personal bests out of the distance crew in their tune-up 1500m or 800m races. Our throwers took some nice steps today, especially in the discus. Continued improvement in that area is crucial for us next week.
Overall I'm really confident about where our team's training is and the direction we're heading. We have a lot of guys going into the conference ready to have huge days, and we're hungry to compete."
