Coachs Remarks
"In terms of outdoor season openers, I was pretty pleased with how today's meet went. Our main focus today was getting the team through the first outdoor meet healthy as we contend with the cooler temperatures and most athletes moving up in race distance compared to the indoor season. Additionally, for the throws crew, getting reps in a meet setting with outdoor specific implements is crucial.

Some highlights today came from Mac [Anderson] breaking the 11-second barrier in the 100m, Chase [Upmann] being a dual winner in the 1500m and 800m on a short recovery period, Tyler [Rose] opening very strong in the discus, Lucas [Leal] cracking the top 10 all-time at Carthage in the hammer throw, and Joseph [White] breaking the 60-meter barrier in the hammer to move up to third all-time in school history right behind Coach Greg Raimondi

Looking ahead, we are going to need to make a lot of progress through April to be where we want to be as a team by the May Championships, but I'm pleased with where we're starting from. We'll be looking to take steps forward at the North Central First Chance Meet on Friday with a short week of training."
