Coach's Remarks

"The team has been working really hard this fall and today they were able to highlight it," said Assistant Coach Greg Raimondi. "All across the board we had solid performances to start the 23-24 season. As a staff we are excited to see where this group can be when February rolls around. A shout out to our freshmen class that showed up to compete really well in their first collegiate meet as Firebirds. The main highlights came from our women's long jump and shot put groups.  Christina Hall led the women's long jump crew with Anna and Charlotte right behind her, all clearing over 5m.  Aubrey Schoeneman led the shot group moving to #3 in school history and taking an early NCAA #1 mark in the shot throwing 14.41m.  Alyssa Gulsvig followed behind with the 7th best throw in school history hitting 13.60m. We will be back in action at home on January 13th to hopefully build on some strong early season performances.
