Carthage Men’s Track and Field Take First at Firebird First

KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College men's track and field team hosted the Firebird First on Saturday, January 14 taking first place in the meet with 191.5 team points.

"I was really pleased with today's performances," commented head coach Josh Henry. "It is pretty apparent that our guys put in some good work over the winter break and are poised for a strong 2023 season. Perhaps the biggest highlight of the day was Mac Anderson's performance in the 55m. His time of 6.57 now places him 7th all-time at Carthage in the event. I also thought it was a pretty strong day for the distance crew who swept the distance events, winning the 800m, Mile, and 3K. Joseph White continued his dominance in the throws with wins in the shot put and weight throw. He broke another school record today with his shot put throw. Also, in the weight, freshmen Tyler Rose and Jacob Brost had some solid improvements to set new personal bests.

We look forward to a short week of training before we head to a competitive meet at North Central Next Friday."

The Firebirds will compete in the Snow Day Invite hosted by North Central (Ill.) on Friday, January 20.
