Firebirds Set Personal Bests on the Track at North Central

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Carthage men's track and field team set numerous personal records today, highlighted by the runners on day two at the Carius/Gregory Invitational. A few of the Firebirds will compete tomorrow at the Saint Francis Fighting Chance Invite, while the rest of the team eyes the final meet of the regular season, the Augustana Midwest Twilight on Thursday, May 19.
 

Highlights

  • Granville Anderson set a new PR in the 100-meter dash today, crossing the finish line in 11.08 seconds.
  • In the 1,500-meter run, Craig Hundley II ran a career-best and moved from sixth to fifth in the program record books with a time of 3:55.11.
  • For the first time this season, Cody Canegan cracked the 50-second mark in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.95 seconds, taking fifth place overall.
  • Setting a new PR in 800-meter dash with a time of 1:53.47, Chase Upmann moved up from seventh to fifth in the Carthage record books.
  • Canegan returned to the track at the end of the night in the 200-meter dash, setting a new PR with a time of 22.34.
