KENOSHA, Wis. — The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) released their men's lacrosse student-athletes of the week on Monday, selecting Carthage's George Burchfield as the offensive player of the week.

The sophomore from Mokena, Ill. helped the Firebirds take down North Central on Sunday to move into second place in the conference. Scoring six goals for the second time this season, Burchfield placed his name in the record book once more as he tied for the eighth-most goals in a single game at Carthage. Burchfield is currently second on the team in goals and total points, and ranks in the top 10 in the CCIW in goals, assists, and points per game.

This is the fourth conference player of the week honor for the Firebirds this season, after Burchfield was tagged as the offensive player of the week on April 4 and Blake Raphael took home a pair of defensive player of the week awards.

Carthage is set to take on Elmhurst next, on Wednesday, April 27.
