1/21/2022 11:27:00 PM

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Competing on the road for the first time this season, the Carthage women's track and field team put up great performances at the Snow Day Invitational hosted by North Central on Friday at the Al B. Carius Track. The Firebirds scored just over 90 points to take third overall, behind Trine in second and North Central in first.

Up next, Carthage will travel to Aurora University on Saturday, January 29 for the Aurora Grand Prix.

Assistant Coach Greg Raimondi

"Overall, the team did some good things across all event groups. We still have work to do in order to get to where we want to be but that takes time, this is only our second week back. Small improvements and consistency will lead to better performances down the road. The women are continually striving for better each week, but have to stay physically and mentally focused on the process to get there. We are looking forward to another full week of training as we prepare for the Aurora meet at the new track facility in Chicago."
