KENOSHA, Wis. — The Carthage College men's track and field team hosted the Carthage Multi on Friday and Saturday, with Connor Bell finishing in third place in the men's heptathlon.

"Connor had a very strong heptathlon performance highlighted by two very strong performances in the vertical jumps," said head coach Josh Henry. "His high jump mark on day one currently ranks second in the conference, and on day two he set a personal best in the pole vault by over six inches."

The senior placed third in the first event of the multi, the 55-yard dash, with a time of 7.30 seconds. Bell then took second in the long jump, at 5.97 meters, before a second-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 10.95.

A strong performance in the high jump gave Bell first place, clearing 1.89 meters, later placing third in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.86 seconds. He would finish out the day with a third-place finish in the pole vault at 3.50 meters, and a fourth-place finish in the 1,000-meter run after crossing the finish line at 3:17.13.

Totalling 4,056 points, Bell would place third among the five total competitors.

"This performance bodes well for Connor looking ahead to the outdoor decathlon," said Henry. "I am excited to see what he can do with the three additional events this spring."

Bell and the rest of the men's track and field team are set to host Carroll and North Park next Saturday, February 27.
