FULL RESULTS
NAPERVILLE, ILL.—The Carthage College men's track & field team embarked on the North Central College (Ill.) Cardinal Opener at the Al B. Carius Track in Naperville, Illinois on Friday after a six-week layoff from competition. The Red Men's 142 team points claimed them second place out of five teams. The host Cardinals pulled down the North Central College (Ill.) Cardinal Opener Team Championship with 319 points.

Carthage pulled off the podium sweep in the one-mile run, led by
Logan Engberg's first-place time of 4:33.44.
Thomas Olenek wasn't far off as he crossed the finish line at 4:36.79, good enough for second place.
Zakry Schwartz completed the one-mile run sweep with a third-place time of 4:38.91.

Caleb Hays joined Engberg on the first-place train when he posted a 14.35m in the shot put.
Nate Meador continued Carthage's strong day in the field events as he secured the weight throw title with a 14.74m.

Tommy Williams' first collegiate meet resulted in a second-place mark of 13.56m in the triple jump.

The sprinters were led by
Ronny Onano, who pulled down second place in the 200 meter run when he crossed the finish line at 23.35.
Michael Schantek (51.49) stood third on the 400 meter dash podium while
Lawrence Jackson accomplished a similar feat with a 7.28 in the 60 meter dash.

The highly touted 4x400 meter relay team of
Quade Kayle,
Dante Graham,
Juan Sanchez and
David Rogers clocked-in a second-place time of 3:31.82.

The Red Men will return to competition on Friday, January 18 at the UW-Parkside Ranger Relays. Meet time is set for 3:00 p.m.
