Red Men Open Home Schedule Against University of Northwestern (MN)

 


KENOSHA, WIS.—The Carthage College men's lacrosse team (3-1, 0-0 CCIW) will open their home schedule against University of Northwestern (MN) on Saturday, March 4 at 3:00 p.m. The Red Men are coming off an 8-5 victory at Beloit College on February 25, a game that featured single-digit temperatures. Carthage ranks among the top-10 teams in Division III with 32 assists (8th), a .733 faceoff winning percentage (5th) and 155 ground balls (8th).
 
Ethan Flight's three man-up goals this season leads the CCIW and ranks seventh in the country. Andy Meyers paces the CCIW and stands ninth in the country with a .759 faceoff percentage.

The Eagles opened their inaugural season with a 9-8 loss at Carroll University on February 11. Jeffrey Schultz paced the team with four goals while Stephen Kellar and Noah Vanderkooi each added two. Goalkeeper Zach Shockencey notched nine saves in a complete-game victory for Northwestern (MN).
 
Joel Friebe is in his first season as Eagles head men's lacrosse coach.
 
University of Northwestern (MN) will play an independent schedule in their first season of competition.

Carthage will return to Art Keller Field on Tuesday, March 7 against Concordia (Wis.) at 5:00 p.m. The Red Men will close their three-game home stand against University of Dubuque on Saturday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m.
