KENOSHA, Wis. – This Saturday the Carthage College football coaching staff will join coaches across America in a movement by the American Football Coaches Association in the 'Cure To Cure M-D'.
Â
Falling on this year's homecoming game against Augustana College, 2016 marks the ninth year of the effort to end Duchenne Muscular Dystophy nationwide. To show their support, head football coach
Mike Yeager and his staff will wear the special Coach To Cure MD patches on the sideline.
Â
"We are excited to be part of a program that raises money with a great purpose," said
Mike Yeager. "To be able to team-up with coaches from Division I, II and III all across the country this weekend to shed light and fight this this terrible disease is a great honor."
Â
Football fans can donate to Duchenne muscular dystrophy research by going online to www.CoachtoCureMD.org or by texting the word CURE to 90999 (a $5 donation will automatically be added to your next phone bill).
Â
Last year, more than 10,000 college coaches at more than 525 institutions participated in Coach to Cure MD events. The program, now in its ninth year, has raised just over $1.2 in the fight against this disease.
Â
The Red Men, 2-1 this season, look to earn their first CCIW win of the year Saturday at 1:00 p.m. as Carthage hosts Augustana College, 2-1, 1-0 CCIW.Â

Â
Last year, the Red Men won in Rock Island, 39-27, behind
Ethan Olles' three touchdown passes to lead Carthage in the come-from-behind win.
