NCAA RELEASE
INDIANAPOLIS, IND.—The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced their list of 142 conference honorees for the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year award on Wednesday afternoon.
Karen Chin, who wrapped up her playing career with the Carthage College women's volleyball team last fall, is among 142 nominees still in the running for the prestigious award.
Â
The 142 conference honorees were selected from 517 nominees throughout NCAA Division I, II and III. Chin and Illinois Wesleyan track & field athlete Jill Harmon make up the two College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin nominees for 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year.
Â
The NCAA will dwindle the list of 142 conference honorees to 30 in early September. Ten honorees from each NCAA Division I, II and III will represent the top 30.
Â
The NCAA will choose nine finalists (three from each division) in late September to attend the annual banquet on October 16 in Indianapolis.
