The Carthage College women's tennis team (11-8, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) closed out its regular-season schedule on Sunday, April 28 by splitting a double-dual match at Wisconsin-La Crosse's Veterans Tennis Courts in La Crosse, Wis.  The Lady Reds lost to the host-Eagles (16-8), 6-3, before nipping Edgewood College (16-11), 5-4. 
 
Bari Reynolds (Jr., Sterling, Ill., 16-13) lost to the Wisconsin-La Crosse's Abby Tresedder, 7-6(3), 7-6(5), and also fell to Edgewood's Morgan Wilson, 6-4, 4-6, 10-3, at No. 1 singles.  Haleigh McPeek (So., Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest, 19-8) lost to UW-La Crosse's Kimmy Mrozek at No. 2 singles, Mrozek  winning, 6-2, 6-2, but won over Edgewood's Laura Olsen, 6-2, 6-1.  Erin Henrickson (So., Darien, Ill./Hinsdale-South, 10-13) lost at No. 3 singles to Edgewood.  Abbi Howell (So., Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest, 14-11) lost at No. 3 singles to Wisconsin-La Crosse but won at No. 4 singles over Edgewood.  Kelsey Bowen (Jr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 6-5) lost at No. 4 singles to UW-La Crosse and but won at no. 5 singles over Edgewood.  Holly Weber (Jr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 15-6) lost at No. 5 singles to Wisconsin-La Crosse but won at No. 6 singles over Edgewood.
 
Carthage's No.1 doubles team of Reynolds and McPeek (20-5) won both of their matches.  The No. 2 team of Henrickson and Howell (16-11) lost both matches, and the No. 3 tandem of Weber and Kirsten Peterson (Fr., Hastings, Minn., 7-8) split. 
 
Carthage opens play at the CCIW Women's Tennis Automatic Qualifying Tournament on Tuesday, April 30 by traveling to Rock Island, Ill., to take on Augustana College (Ill., 14-8, 5-1 CCIW) in a 4 p.m. semifinal match at the Augustana Tennis Courts.  Illinois Wesleyan University (8-8, 3-3) plays Wheaton College (Ill., 14-4, 6-0) on Wednesday, May 1 in the other semifinal contest.
