The Carthage College men's swimming team (1-0 dual-meet record) opened its 2010-11 season on Saturday, Oct. 30 with a 160-102 win over Hope College at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.  

The Red Men's Doug Schranck (Jr., Alton, Ill./Marquette Catholic) won three events, taking first place in the 100 butterfly (52.65), the 200 butterfly (1:58.50) and the 200 individual medley (2:04.16).  Ryan Ortmann (Jr., Woodstock, Ill.) won both the 50 freestyle (21.80) and the 100 freestyle (48.34), while Kyle Drake (Sr., Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) won both the 200 backstroke (1:57.22) and the 200 freestyle (1:47.18), while finishing second in the 200 individual medley (2:04.20).  

Isaac Rothenbaum (Sr., Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) took second in both the 100 breaststroke (1:02.94) and the 100 freestyle (48.41).  Blake Bendix (Sr., St, Cloud, Minn./Tech) finished in the 50 freestyle (22.34), as did Bob Pellican (Sr., Arlington Heights, Ill./Hersey) in the 100 backstroke (55.28), Jake Carabelli (So., South Beloit, Ill./Rockton-Hononegah) in the 200 butterfly (2:09.45) and Adam Glover (Jr., Eureka, Mo.) in the 1,000 freestyle (10:14.62). 
Carthage plays host to Lake Forest College on Friday, Nov. 5 in a 6 p.m. dual meet at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wis.
