Biography
2011: Part of a 400 freestyle relay team that finished 20th the NCAA Division III Swimming Championship and an 800 freestyle team that finished 22nd…finished fifth in the 50 freestyle (21.79), fifth in the 100 backstroke (53.26) and fifth in the 200 backstroke (1:56.86) at the CCIW Swimming Championship…part of conference-championship relay teams in both the 200 freestyle and the 400 freestyle…named CCIW Swimmer of the Week on Jan. 11.
2010: Finished third in the 200 backstroke (1:56.78), fifth in the 100 backstroke (52.36), eighth in the 100 butterfly (53.84) and ninth in the 200 individual medley (1:59.39) at the CCIW Swimming Championship…part of a CCIW-championship team in the 400 freestyle relay…took first place in both the 200 backstroke (2:00.26) and the 200 individual medley (2:05.17) at the Wisconsin Private College Championship.
2009: Finished third in the 200 backstroke (1:57.02) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (54.03) at the CCIW Swimming Championship…finished seventh in the 200 individual medley at the Wisconsin Private College Championship…holds Carthage’s seventh-fastest times in both the 100 and 200 backstroke.
2008: Finished second in the 200 backstroke (1:58.49), fourth in the 100 backstroke (54.68) and 10th in the 100 freestyle (48.98) at the CCIW Swimming Championship…won the 200 backstroke at the Wisconsin Private College Championship.
High School: Finished 27th in the 100 backstroke at the Illinois High School Association state championship his senior year…coached by Tod Schwager…finished 14th in the 200 backstroke at the 2007 Short Course Sectional Championship…coached by Mary Ruffin for the Arlington Alligators.
Personal: Business administration major…named a 2010 College Swimming Coaches Association of America honorable mention Scholar All-American…named twice to the Carthage dean’s list and named to the spring 2008 Carthage athletic director’s honor roll…son of Bob and Jill Pellican…born Jan. 14, 1989.
