Men's Tennis Jumps Nine Spots in ITA National Rankings

TEMPE - The Carthage men's tennis team has been ranked No. 31 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III National Rankings, the association announced Thursday. The team rose nine spots from last week's rankings. Senior Francisco Silveira has also been ranked No. 18 in the ITA Central Region Singles Rankings.

The Firebirds are currently 15-3 on the season and are coming off a pair of 7-0 victories over Augustana and Lawrence. Wednesday's victory over Lawrence was not included in this week's ratings, but will play a role next week.

Silveira is currently 14-4 in singles play this season with an 11-4 record in No. 1 singles play with a four match winning streak.

The Firebirds return to action on Friday against Millikin at Smeds Tennis Center. Action begins at 4 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
