KENOSHA – The Carthage men's tennis team hosted the Lawrence University Vikings at Smeds Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon. It was a strong day for the squad, as the Firebirds cruised past the Vikings to earn their third consecutive win.

 

In doubles play, Finn Morris and Diego Silva earned a 6-1 win in No. 1 doubles over Gabriel Garcia and William Phillips. In No. 3 doubles, Francisco Silveira and Payton Nelson defeated Owen Horton and Xander Priest with a 6-1 final score. Carthage capped off the doubles sweep with a win in No. 2 doubles as Luca Okino and Victor Pimenta claimed a 6-4 win over William Reichen and Benjamin Hoppe. The Firebirds took a 1-0 lead over the Vikings.

In singles play, Daniel Jaworski extended the Firebirds lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Jonathan Myszka in No. 6 singles. Linus Bangert then defeated Garcia in No. 3 singles with a pair of 6-0 victories. Cyriac Cayuela clinched the team victory with a 6-1. 6-1 win in No. 2 singles against Hoppe. Marco Czosnyka defeated Phillips 6-1, 6-2 in No. 5 singles, while Ethan Foucheaux defeated Horton in No. 4 singles with a pair of 6-2 wins. Silveira closed out the match with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Reichen in No. 1 singles.
