Nina Mayfield tied for 54th after carding rounds of 88 and 83 for a total of 171 (+27). Rounding out the team scorers, Madeline Midgett posted rounds of 84 and 89 for a total of 173 (+29).
The Firebirds also had three individuals compete. Braelyn Davoust led the group, tying for 22nd place with back-to-back rounds of 79 for a total of 158 (+14). Emily Tralewski tied for 32nd, shooting 82 and 80 for a two-day total of 162 (+18). Lauren Howe tied for 45th, carding rounds of 84 and 83 to finish with a total of 167 (+23).
"Best two days for the firebirds as a team, as well as several individuals," said head coach Bill Buss. "Lexi Manteufel played some outstanding golf with her putter staying hot as it has been all spring. She tied for the first position at a course that, over the last 6 rounds, is a total of 4 over par. Significant gains for several of our players, but the one that stands out the most was Braelyn Davoust, who put up back-to-back 79s and broke 80 for the first time in her collegiate career. As a team, we are winding down our season, and the biggest takeaway for the year is that our tournament average has dropped 10 shots per day, and the depth of the team is taking shape to get me excited for the year to come."
The Firebirds will be back in action on Monday, April 27, as the team will host the Strawberry Creek Spring Invite. For more information, visit our
