Competing as individuals, Nina Mayfield placed eighth with rounds of 78 and 90 for a 168 (+24), and Lauren Howe finished 10th with an 83 and 88 for a 171 (+27).
"Best performance of the spring for the team," said head coach Bill Buss. A couple of highlights for the tournament were Ro and Nina breaking into the 70's. This was a collegiate PR for Nina that was highlighted by 7 1-putt greens. Ro was deadly with her 5 iron with birdies on back-to-back par 3's. Lexi continues to perform exceptionally and was able to roll in 5 birdies in round 2, including back-to-back twice on holes 6/7 and 16/17 on her way to the victory.
The Firebirds will be back in action on Saturday, April 25, at the Wartburg Women's Spring Golf Invitational. For more information, visit our
