KENOSHA – The Carthage men's tennis team hosted the Elmhurst University Bluejays on Friday afternoon at Smeds Tennis Center. The Firebirds cruised to victory and earned their fifth consecutive shutout win. The win also marked the 900th career coaching win for Head Coach
Brady Lindsley, who picked up win No. 506 as the head coach of Carthage men's tennis to go along with his 394 wins as head coach of the Carthage women's tennis program.

In doubles play, Luca Okino and James Schweitzer earned a 6-1 victory in No. 2 doubles over Isaac Puchalla and Caden Sultzbaugh. Marco Czosnyka and Daniel Jaworski defeated Santiago Hurtado and Adrien Songco 6-1 in No. 1 doubles. The Bluejays did not enter a duo at No. 3 doubles so the Firebirds claimed a 1-0 lead over the Bluejays.
In singles play, Francisco Silveira earned a win in No. 1 singles over Hurtado with a pair of 6-0 victories. In No. 2 singles, Okino used a 6-0, 6-0 performance to defeat Sultzbaugh and give the Firebirds a 3-0 lead. Czosnyka then defeated Songco in No. 3 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 performance. Jaworski claimed the No. 4 singles win over Puchalla, claiming the victory with a 6-0, 6-0 final score. The Firebirds then claimed the No. 5 and No. 6 singles points by forfeit.

The Firebirds (18-3, 4-1 CCIW) return to action on Saturday, April 18 as the team will celebrate Senior Day and face off against Wheaton College at Life Sport Athletic Club in Racine, Wis. Action is scheduled to begin at 4:45 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
