KENOSHA – The Carthage men's tennis team hosted the Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Saturday morning at Smeds Tennis Center. After sweeping their way through doubles play, the Firebirds claimed all six matches in singles play to earn the team's fourth consecutive shutout victory.

 

In doubles play, Linus Bangert and Cyriac Cayuela shut out Jesus Avalos and Truman Raher 6-0 in No. 3 doubles. Finn Morris and Diego Silva then earned a 6-3 win in No. 1 doubles over Griffin Hammond and Benjamin Vigneri. Luca Okino and Victor Pimenta completed the doubles sweep with a 7-5 win in No. 2 doubles against Thad Dillow and William Ehrlich. The Firebirds took a 1-0 lead over the Titans

In singles play, Pimenta defeated Raher with a pair of 6-0 victories in No. 5 singles to extend the Carthage lead. Ethan Foucheaux earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over Sebastian Rasquin in No. 6 singles to boost the Firebirds to a 3-0 lead. Silva clinched the team victory with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Dillow in No. 2 singles. In No. 4 singles, Okino earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ehrlich. Morris then earned a 6-1, 6-2 win over Hammond in No. 3 singles, while Francisco Silveira earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Vigneri in No. 1 singles to complete the shutout
