Men's Tennis Rises Two Spots in Latest ITA National Rankings

TEMPE - The Carthage men's tennis team has been ranked No. 29 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III National Rankings, the association announced Wednesday. The team rose two spots from last week's rankings. Senior Francisco Silveira has also been ranked No. 18 in the ITA Central Region Singles Rankings.

The Firebirds are currently 17-3 on the season and are coming off a pair of 7-0 victories over Millikin and Illinois Wesleyan on Friday and Saturday.

Silveira is currently 16-4 in singles play this season with an 13-4 record in No. 1 singles play with a six match winning streak.

The Firebirds return to action on Friday against Elmhurst at Smeds Tennis Center. Action begins at 4 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
