KENOSHA — Four members of the Carthage College men's wrestling team were recognized for excellence in the classroom as the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its 2025-26 NCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans.
A total of 473 student-athletes from 105 institutions earned the distinction, highlighting success both academically and competitively throughout the season.
Carthage's honorees include senior
Zaren Anderson (finance), sophomore
Edgar Albino (accounting), senior
Chris Kish (criminal justice) and senior
Maxwell Schmitt (mathematics).
To qualify for NWCA Scholar All-America honors, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.2 grade-point average during the previous academic year or hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Freshmen are required to post at least a 3.2 GPA during the fall term. In addition, wrestlers must meet specific competitive criteria, including qualifying for the NCAA Championships, placing in the top six at a regional tournament, or achieving a winning percentage of at least 67 percent while competing in at least half of the team's schedule.
As a team, Carthage also earned national recognition, finishing 24th in the NCAA Division III Team Scholar All-America standings with a 3.606 GPA.
