NAPERVILLE - Linus Bangert of the Carthage men's tennis team was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Bangert, a freshman from Bagsværd, Denmark, went 6-0 in singles play during the Firebirds spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. Bangert went 2-0 in No. 3 singles with wins against Cornell and Calvin, 3-0 in No. 4 singles with wins against Piedmont, St. Scholastica and Washington (Md.), 1-0 in No. 5 singles with a win against Wabash.

The Firebirds (12-2) return to action on Saturday, March 21 as the team opens CCIW play against North Central at 5 p.m. at the Naperville Tennis Club in Naperville, Ill.
