Saint Mary's 6, Carthage 1
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Carthage women's tennis team returned to the court for the first time in 2026 with a Saturday afternoon showdown against Saint Mary's (Ind.) at the Notre Dame Eck Pavilion.

 

In doubles play, Jordan Miller and Bella Rizzo dropped a 6-1 match against Anna Gardner and Odessa Norton in No. 3 doubles. Niki Manojlovic and Marie Weis fell in No. 2 doubles by a score of 6-3 to Evelyn Demblans-Dechans and Sophia Pischalko. Rya Arreazola and Greta Peterson battled to a 7-6 (7-3) win in No. 1 doubles against Shannon Dudy and Emma Kealy. Saint Mary's took a 1-0 lead into singles play.

In singles play, Peterson fell 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 singles to Gardner. Rizzo got the Firebirds on the scoreboard with a 0-6, 6-1, (10-8) win over Pischalko in No. 5 singles. Arreazola fell 6-1, 6-3 to Kealy in No. 1 singles, bringing the Saint Mary's lead to 3-1. Lanie Brant defeated Valentina Huesca 6-1, 6-3 in No. 6 singles, before Miller dropped a 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) match against Demblans-Dechans in No. 4 singles. Manojlovic concluded the match with a 5-7, 6-4, (11-9) loss to Dudy in No. 3 singles.

Saint Mary's defeated Carthage 6-1.
