ELMHURST, Ill. — The Carthage women's tennis team defeated Elmhurst, 7-0, on Thursday afternoon. It was a special day for the Firebirds, as Carthage Head Coach

In doubles play, Rya Arreazola and Greta Peterson cruised to a 6-0 win over Zaina Daghash and Asma Hassan in No. 1 doubles, before Kamila Dobija and Sabina Skudrnova finished the doubles sweep with a 6-0 win in No. 2 doubles over Olivia Hernandez and Courtneye Schneider. The Firebirds took a 1-0 lead over the Bluejays.
In singles play, Jordan Miller extended the lead with a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 4 singles against Kathleen Castillo. Peterson then defeated Hernandez 6-0, 6-1 in No. 3 singles to extend the lead to 3-0. Arreazola defeated Daghash in No. 1 singles with a final score of 6-1, 6-0. Dobija earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Hasan in No. 2 singles before Skudrnova completed the shutout with 6-0, 6-3 win over Schneider in No. 5 singles.
