Foucheaux Claims CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Ethan Foucheaux of the Carthage men's tennis team has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Foucheaux, a junior from Jefferson City, Mo., went a combined 3-0 over the last week in the Firebirds pair of duals against No. 38 Wis-Whitewater and MSOE. In the match against Wis-Whitewater, Foucheaux teamed up with Francisco Silveira to earn a 6-2 victory in No. 3 doubles over Julius Jonsson and Daniel Moeller. Against MSOE, Foucheaux and Silveira defeated Pedro Mendes and Augusto Yamazaki 6-4 in No. 3 doubles. In singles play, Foucheaux earned a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Carlos Lopez in No. 6 singles to complete the Firebirds 6-1 win over the Raiders.

The Firebirds (5-1) return to action on Friday, Feb. 20 as the squad hosts DePauw at the LifeSport Athletic Club in Racine, Wis. Action is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. CST. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
