Men’s Swim and Dive Claims Key Event Wins Against Illinois Tech on Senior Day

KENOSHA -  The Carthage men's swim and dive team put together a competitive and resilient effort against Illinois Institute of Technology, highlighted by standout performances in both the pool and on the diving boards. While the meet featured tight races throughout, the Firebirds rose to the occasion in key moments, earning first-place finishes through disciplined execution and individual excellence. Additionally, the Firebirds honored their 2025-26 seniors.

Who Led the Way

The Carthage men were powered by strong individual efforts, particularly in diving and middle-distance freestyle events. Taydin Murphy swept the diving competition, taking first place on both boards with scores of 252.20 on the 1-meter and 274.20 on the 3-meter.

In the pool, Tyson Politsch delivered a decisive win in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 4:55.38 to lead the field. AJ Landorf earned a share of first place in the 100-yard butterfly, posting a time of 52.66 in a tie for the top spot.
