KENOSHA - The Carthage men's swim and dive team put together a competitive and resilient effort against Illinois Institute of Technology, highlighted by standout performances in both the pool and on the diving boards. While the meet featured tight races throughout, the Firebirds rose to the occasion in key moments, earning first-place finishes through disciplined execution and individual excellence. Additionally, the Firebirds honored their 2025-26 seniors.

The Carthage men were powered by strong individual efforts, particularly in diving and middle-distance freestyle events. Taydin Murphy swept the diving competition, taking first place on both boards with scores of 252.20 on the 1-meter and 274.20 on the 3-meter.
In the pool, Tyson Politsch delivered a decisive win in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 4:55.38 to lead the field.
AJ Landorf earned a share of first place in the 100-yard butterfly, posting a time of 52.66 in a tie for the top spot.
The Firebirds are back in action on Friday, January 23, traveling to Stevens Point, Wisconsin, to take on the UW-Stevens Point Pointers. Action is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. For more information, visit our
