ST. PETER, Minn. – The Carthage women's tennis team competed in the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Tournament at Gustavus Adolphus from Friday through Sunday.

 

SINGLES BRACKET

Round One (Friday)

Greta Peterson earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Hattie Plenty (Edgewood) to advance to the second round. Niki Manojlovic fell to Tannishtha Mukherjee (Grinnell) with a final score of 6-1, 6-4. Rya Arreazola fell 6-2, 6-0 to Logan Tom (Grinnell). Xingchen Liu advanced to the second round on a bye.

Round Two (Friday)

Liu used a pair of 6-2 victories to defeat Maddie Parker (Gustavus Adolphus) and advance to the third round. Peterson fell to Kaya DeBrujin (Gustavus Adolphus) with a 6-0, 6-1 defeat. 

Round Three (Friday)

Liu utilized a 6-2, 6-1 performance to earn the win over Hannah Cody (Wis-La Crosse) to advance to Saturday's portion of the tournament.

Round Four (Saturday)

Liu's success continued with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Kiera Healy (Grinnell) to advance to the quarterfinals on Sunday.

Quarterfinals (Sunday)

Liu advanced to the semifinals with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Caitlyn Stadter (Wis-La Crosse)

Semifinals (Sunday)

Liu's weekend came to an end in the semifinals after falling 6-2, 6-0 to top-seeded Karina Elvestrom (Gustavus Adolphus).

DOUBLES BRACKET

First Round (Friday)

Manojlovic and Jordan Miller fell in a tight 8-6 contest against a duo from Wis-River Falls. Arreazola and Peterson were swept 8-0 by a duo from Gustavus Adolphus. 

GUSTIE INVITE

Singles Draw No. 2

Miller earned an 8-7 (6) victory over Ellie Aitken (Wis-Stevens Point) in the opening round before coming up short in an 8-6 loss to Renatat Sosa (St. Scholastica).
