Morris Leads Men's Tennis as CCIW Unveils Postseason Awards

NAPERVILLE - Five members of the Carthage men's tennis team were recognized in the 2025 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Postseason Awards, the conference announced Wednesday. Finn Morris led the way, earning the CCIW First Year Student-Athlete of the Year Award. Myles Krzewinski, Elios Briand, and Francisco Silveira were named to All-CCIW teams, while Daniel Jaworski was named a recipient of the CCIW RESPECT Award.

FINN MORRIS | FIRST YEAR STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Morris, a native of Burgess Hill, U.K., went 10-7 in singles play during his opening year with the Firebirds, earning four wins in #5 singles. Morris went 21-6 in doubles play, including an 18 win year with teammate Cyriac Cayuela.

MYLES KRZEWINSKI | FIRST TEAM ALL-CCIW

Krzewinski, a native of Green Bay, Wis., went 13-8 in doubles play with Briand in the 2024-25 campaign, while also picking up six wins in singles play. Five of the six wins came in #1 singles for the senior Firebird.

ELIOS BRIAND | SECOND TEAM ALL-CCIW

Briand, a graduate student from Cestas, France, went 15-3 in singles play in 2024-25 with 12 wins in #3 singles. He is currently riding a 10-match winning streak in singles. Briand also went 14-8 in doubles play, teaming up with Krzewinski and Diego Silva.

FRANCISCO SILVEIRA | SECOND TEAM ALL-CCIW

Silveira, a junior from Niterói, Brazil, went 20-6 in doubles play while pairing up with Cayuela and Cooper Ferruzzi. Silveira also went 15-7 in singles play, winning five #1 singles matches and eight #2 singles matches.

DANIEL JAWORSKI | CCIW RESPECT AWARD

Jaworski, Deerfield, Ill., has been named a recipient of the CCIW RESPECT Award. At the conclusion of every sport's season, each varsity program will recognize one student-athlete as their RESPECT Award honoree. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution, and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration, and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourage inclusiveness and a positive culture.
