NORMAL — The Carthage College women's golf team competed in the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling hosted by Illinois Wesleyan, finishing with a two-day team score of 692 (335+357).
Mae Norman led the Firebirds with a two-day total of 179, opening with an 87 before closing with a 92.
Alina Brindza followed with rounds of 84 and 88 for a total of 172, contributing consistent scores across both days.
Lexi Manteufel recorded Carthage's lowest individual round of the tournament with a 79 on Day One. She wrapped up her weekend with a 91 to finish at 170.
Ro Longden posted scores of 85 and 86 for a total of 171, improving slightly on the second day.
Abigail Bocock turned in Carthage's best second-round score with a 79 after an 88 in Round One, finishing with a two-round total of 167.
Lauren Howe rounded out the lineup with rounds of 93 and 97 for a 190 total.

"Overall, it was a productive weekend," comment head coach
Bill Buss. "On Saturday, the team shot their lowest score of the spring season and on Sunday, the highlight was a tremendous round by Senior Abby Bocock with a 79. Her driver has been her go-to club all spring, and today, she scrambled in tough winds to make some great recoveries for pars to keep the round going.
