METAMORA - The Carthage College women's golf team traveled to Metamora, Illinois, to compete in the CCIW Women's Golf Championships, where the Firebirds earned a fourth place finish over the three day event.
Lexi Manteufel led the way with an impressive second-place individual finish, earning First Team All-CCIW honors.
Madeline Midgett and
Mae Norman also received recognition, both earning Second Team All-CCIW honors for their strong performances.
DAY ONE
After the opening round, the Firebirds sit in second place with a team score of 312 (+28), trailing Illinois Wesleyan (301) by 11 strokes. Leading the way for Carthage, Manteufel carded a 73 (+2) to finish the day tied for first overall. Lauren Howe followed with a 79 (+8), placing her in a tie for 11th. Ro Longden and Norman each shot 80 (+9) to sit tied for 13th, while Midgett's 81 (+10) earned a share of 18th place. Rounding out the lineup, Braelyn Davoust recorded an 83 (+12) to tie for 23rd.
DAY TWO
The Firebirds turned in another strong performance on day two, finishing fourth overall with a team score of 325 (+41) and a 637 total across both rounds. Leading the way for Carthage, Manteufel carded a 76 (+5) to finish tied for second overall. Norman followed with an 82 (+11), tying for 14th place, while Longden shot an 83 (+12) to tie for 15th. Midgett added an 84 (+13), tying for 20th, and Howe finished with an 89 (+18) in 26th place. Davoust rounded out the Firebirds' lineup, carding an 88 (+17) to tie for 28th overall.
DAY THREE
The Firebirds closed out the final round with a strong performance, finishing fourth overall with a team score of 325 (+41) and a three-day total of 962. Leading the way for Carthage, Manteufel carded a 75 (+4) to secure second place individually. Midgett followed with an 82 (+11), tying for 17th alongside Norman, who posted an 85 (+14). Longden finished 21st after shooting an 85 (+14), while Howe carded an 83 (+12) to place 25th. Davoust rounded out the Firebirds' lineup with a 91 (+20), finishing in 36th place.
