NAPERVILLE - Gwen Hendrick of the Carthage softball team was named Hitter of the Week for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), the conference announced Monday. 

Hendrick, a junior from Appleton, Wis., led the Firebirds in hits with 11 on 13 plate appearances (0.846) against Concordia Chicago (March 25) and Beloit (March 28). Hendrick recorded four runs and seven RBIs. Additionally, Hendrick collected seven doubles on the week. Hendrick is currently ranked second in the CCIW in hitting with a .541 batting average this season.
