Rettler Named Second Team CSC Academic All-American

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Clare Rettler of the Carthage softball team has been named Second Team Academic All-America, which was announced by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.

Rettler, a senior from Appleton, Wis., excelled both on the softball field and in the classroom. As the starting center fielder and lead-off hitter for the Firebirds, Rettler earned All-Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, as well as being named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year and First Team All-CCIW. Rettler hit .614 with 86 hits in 2026, including five doubles, six triples, and three home runs. The senior registered an on-base percentage of .654 with a slugging percentage of .800, while claiming a career-high 58 stolen bases.

In the classroom, Rettler, who majored in Exercise and Sport Science with a minor in Psychology, concluded the year with a 3.96 cumulative GPA.
