Carthage 4, St. Scholastica 3
ORLANDO – The Carthage women's tennis team returned to action for the first time in 2025 with a match against the St. Scholastica Saints in Florida on Monday afternoon. In a hard fought battle, the Firebirds came away with a late victory over the Saints.

 

DOUBLES PLAY

Sasha Manojlovic and Giovanna Mendes dropped a 6-4 match against Julia Maier and Paula Sendele. Xingchen Liu and Maddie Kearney defeated Katia Bartels and Sophia Cosgrove 6-3. Niki Manojlovic and Greta Peterson fell to Annika Lundell and Mishell Benitez 6-4. The Saints earned the team point and took a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

SINGLES PLAY

Liu earned the win over Maier with a 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 victory. S. Manojlovic fell to Bartels 6-3, 6-1. Mendes dropped a 6-2, 6-4 match against Cosgrove. Peterson earned the win with a 6-2, 7-5 performance over Sendele. Kearney defeated Hailey Hokanson with a pair of 6-1 victories. N. Manojlovic defeated Addison Bultema 6-3, 6-0.
