NAPERVILLE - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week. Emily Belcik of the Carthage Women's Swimming and Diving team was named Swimming Student-Athlete of the Week for the CCIW, the conference announced Tuesday. 

Belcik, a Freshman from Chicago, Ill., competed in 6 events at the Wisconsin Private College Championships on Saturday, February 1. Belcik swam the last legs on the 200 yard medley, 400 yard freestyle, and 400 yard medley relays, placing first in all three. In individual events, Belcik placed second in the 200 yard IM, first in the 200 yard freestyle, and first in the 100 yard freestyle. 

The Firebirds are gearing up for the upcoming College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships starting Wednesday, February 19. The Diving Championships will be held on Wednesday, February 19. The Swimming Championships will be held Thursday, February 20 through Saturday, February 22.
