Women’s Swimming and Diving Places Second at CCIW Championships

PLEASANT PRAIRIE - The Carthage women's swimming and diving team competed in the CCIW Swimming and Diving Championships held Wednesday February 19 through Saturday February 22.

Diving

In the one meter dive Gabby Garcia and Kendall Leistico placed second and third in the one meter dive with scores of 310.35 and 305.75.*

Garcia took the crown in the three meter dive with a score of 285.40.*

Day One

The Firebirds relay team of Michelle Gorney, Sydney Logan, Kylie Kramp, and Emily Belcik took third place in the 800 yard freestyle relay in a time of 7:51.54.

Day Two

The Firebirds relay team of Maria Gutzweiler, Noelle Marsh, Lois Klinger, and Belcik took second place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:37.77.

In the 200 yard IM, Belcik took second place clocking in a time of 2:13.23.*

The Firebirds relay team of Gutzweiler, Rylie Vatch, Klinger, and Belcik placed second in the 400 yard medley relay in a time of 4:00.63.

Day Three

The Firebirds relay team of Gutzweiler, Vatch, Norman, and Marsh placed third in the 200 yard medley relay clocking in a time of 1:47.64.

Kaleigh Bobb finished in third place in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:52.87.*

Belcik clocked in a time of 1:56.03 for a third place finish in the 200 yard freestyle.*

In the 100 yard breaststroke, Marsh took third place with a time of 1:10.01.*

Day Four

Michelle Gorney took third place in the 1650 yard freestyle in a time of 18:35.70.*

In the 200 yard backstroke, Kylie Kramp placed second in a time of 2:09.22.*

Rylie Vatch placed third in the 200 yard breaststroke clocking in a time of 2:33.90.*

In the 400 yard freestyle relay, the Firebirds relay team of Marsh, Kramp, Gorney, and Belcik clocked in a time of 3:39.37 for a third place finish.
