NAPERVILLE - The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced the All-CCIW teams for the 2024-25 women's basketball season. The Carthage women's basketball team was represented by Marianna Morrissey, who received All-CCIW First Team honors.

Morrissey was one of five unanimous selections to the All-CCIW First Team, along with Natalie Gricius and Olivia Rangel of Carroll, Kristin Bukata of Elmhurst, and Lauren Huber of Illinois Wesleyan. In the regular season, Morrissey averaged 14.8 points per game, along with 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists. The senior also averaged just over two steals per game. Morrissey ranks seventh in the CCIW in scoring, seventh in minutes played, and eighth in steals.

Emma Thistle received the CCIW RESPECT Award for the 2024-25 women's basketball season. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution, and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration, and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourage inclusiveness and a positive culture.
The Firebirds (17-8, 9-7 CCIW) have secured the no. 3 seed and will host no. 6 Millikin in the opening round of the CCIW Tournament in Tarble Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
