Carthage 4, DePauw 3
GREENCASTLE – The Carthage men's tennis team traveled to Indiana for a Sunday morning showdown against the DePauw Tigers. It was a hard fought battle on both sides that came down to the a fierce battle between Carthage's Francisco Silveira and DePauw's Scott Anderson in #2 singles to decide which team would reign victorious.

 

In doubles play, Elios Briand and Myles Krzewinski fell to Finley Buelte and Will Cramer 6-2. Cooper Ferruzzi and Silveira defeated Diego Marquez Calderon and Anderson 6-2 in #2 doubles. On the #3 doubles court, Cyriac Cayuela and Finn Morris defeated Teagan Crow and Roee Sela with a 6-4 performance. The Firebirds took two of the three doubles matches and earned a 1-0 lead on the team scoreboard.

In singles play, Krzewinski fell to Buelte 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. Silveira earned a victory over Anderson, defeating the Tiger 5-7, 6-0, 6-0 in singles #2. Briand defeated Cramer 6-3, 6-1. Ferruzzi dropped a #4 singles battle against Samuele Pia 7-5, 6-4. Cayuela won a well-fought 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 battle over Marquez Calderon. Morris fell to Grayson Zylstra 7-5, 6-2 in #6 singles.


 
The Firebirds (4-3) will return to the Life Sport Athletic Club in Racine, Wis. on Saturday, Mar. 1 to host Hope at 8:45 a.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
