PLEASANT PRAIRIE - The Carthage women's swim team competed in the 2026 Swimming CCIW Championships from Wednesday evening through Saturday evening.

DAY ONE
The Firebirds relay team placed fourth in the 800-yard freestyle relay, touching the wall in a time of 8:10.07. The team consisted of
Julia Braun,
Brie Skalski, Addy Shaffer, and
Myah Mathews.
DAY TWO
Lucy Brown and
Noelle Marsh placed seventh and eighth in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in times of 24.97 and 25.09.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Brie Skalski medaled, finishing third, touching the wall in a time of 5:15.29. Additionally, Julia Braun placed seventh with a time of 5:31.00.
Jill Kane placed seventh in the 200-yard IM, finishing in a time of 2:16.64.
The Firebirds relay team medaled, finishing third, in the 200-yard freestyle relay, touching the wall in a time of 1:40.31. The team consisted of Marsh, Braun, Emma Garbine, and Brown.
The Firebirds team of Mikella Mesina, Kane, Lois Klinger, and Brown placed fourth in the 400-yard medley relay, with a time of 4:03.51.
DAY THREE
In the 200-yard medley relay, the Firebirds team of Mesina, Kane, Klinger, and Brown, clocked a time of 1:49.85 for a bronze medal finish.
Skalski hit the board at 4:46.21 in the 400-yard IM, receiving the bronze medal. Additionally, Lyndsey Hackman clocked 4:49.37 and finished in fifth place.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Klinger placed fourth, clocking 1:00.42.
Braun and Garbine placed seventh and eighth in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 2:01.23 and 2:01.99.
Three Firebirds made the podium in the 100-yard breaststroke. Grace Barrone led the Birds with a second-place finish (1:07.70). Right behind, Kane and Marsh placed third and fourth with times of 1:08.01 and 1:09.15.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Mesina clocked a 1:01.66 for a sixth-place finish.
DAY FOUR
Skalski and Shaffer placed third and fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle with times of 18:02.74 and 18:28.08.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Mesina and Myah Mathews placed sixth and seventh, hitting the board at 2:14.57 and 2:15.69.
Kane took the silver medal in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:28.96. Additionally, Barrone and Hackman placed fourth and eighth, clocking times of 2:30.64 and 2:35.89.
Shaffer hit the board in 2:17.21 for a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the Firebirds relay team of Marsh, Braun, Garbine, and Brown placed fourth with a time of 3:42.99.
