KENOSHA — Carthage College men's basketball standout Ryan Johnson has been named to the D3hoops.com Preseason All-America Team, the organization announced this week.

Johnson, a junior from Oswego, Illinois, started all 28 games for the Firebirds last season, averaging 15.0 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. He totaled 255 rebounds on the year and was named the 2024 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Fred Young Most Outstanding Student-Athlete, along with earning All-CCIW First Team honors. Johnson became the first Carthage student-athlete to win the Fred Young award since 2011.

Carthage enters the 2025-26 campaign as the preseason favorite in the CCIW, receiving eight first-place votes in the league's coaches poll. The Firebirds also earned a No. 8 national ranking in the D3hoops.com preseason Top 25 poll.

Carthage opens the season on Saturday, November 8, traveling to Winona, Minnesota, to take on Saint Mary's (Minn.).
