Women’s Golf Earn Third at CCIW Preview

METAMORA - The Carthage College women's golf team finished third at this year's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Preview, shooting a single-day score of 313 (+29), five strokes behind second-place Augustana (Ill.).

The team delivered solid performances, highlighted by Lexi Manteufel's fourth-place finish with a 4-over-par 75. Ro Longden followed closely, tying for fifth with a 76 (+5). Alina Brindza also placed in the top 10, tying for ninth after shooting a 79 (+8). Abigail Bocock rounded out the top 20 for Carthage, tying for 20th with a score of 83 (+12). Mae Norman tied for 29th at 87 (+16). McKenna Sosnowski tied for 33rd with an 89 (+18).

Individually, Steda Lundak finished 28th with an 86 (+15), and Lauren Howe tied for 37th, shooting a 91 (+20).

The Firebirds head to the Midwest Classic on Friday and Saturday, September 20-24.
