Women's Track & Field Earns All-Academic Honors from USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Carthage women's track & field team has been recognized in the 2024 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Track & Field All-Academic Awards, the USTFCCCA announced Monday.

The Firebirds received the All-Academic team award, finishing with a 3.50 cumulative GPA at the end of the 2023-24 season. Six student-athletes were also recognized from the Carthage squad. The athletes recognized as All-Academic included Abbey Calhoun (Graphic Design), Anna Kegel (Nursing), Alexis Mattox (Masters in Education - Sport Leadership), Aubrey Schoeneman (Elementary Education/Special Education), Nicole Tarpley (Elementary Education/Special Education), and Jackie Tuzil (Social Work). 

The all-academic team awards are given to any program achieving a combined cumulative GPA of 3.10 or higher. For the individual honors, each student-athlete must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale, while either being listed in the top 50 of their event on TFRRS, or a member of a top-30 relay team.
