#2 Carthage 5, #7 Millikin 0
WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carthage men's tennis team competed in the opening round of the CCIW Men's Tennis Tournament against the Millikin Big Blue on Thursday afternoon. The Firebirds made quick work of the Big Blue in the opener, defeating the lower seed 5-0 to advance to the next round.

 

In doubles play, Elios Briand and Myles Krzewinski defeated Cole Phillips and Theodor Wolf 8-5. Cooper Ferruzzi and Francisco Silveira earned an 8-6 victory over Esteban Durand and Matthew Kordesh. Diego Silva and Luca Okino won by forfeit.

In singles play, Ferruzzi and Okino won by forfeit to clinch the 5-0 win.


 
The Firebirds will return on Thursday, May 3 for the second round of the CCIW Tournament, as they take on the third seeded Augustana (IL) Vikings at 1 p.m. in Waukesha, Wis.
