MORRIS, Ill. - The Carthage College women's golf team picked up first place at the Melee in Morris after shooting a 359.
The Firebirds finished on top at the Melee In Morris on Tuesday. Playing at Nettle Creek CC once again on a cold, brisk, windy day the team shot 359 taking home the Team title.
The team was headed by Senior Captain Alina Brindza breaking through for the Victory. Winning medalist honors with a smooth 79, converting 8 up and downs on the day , allowing Alina to keep any competitors from catching her. The Birds had help from Toni Powers this week posting another solid (91) taking home the fifth place hardware. With the supporting cast: Annika Erickson (94), Abigail Bocock (95) along Individuals Steda Lundak (98), Samantha Bocock (105) and Mary Mikolajcak (106).

- Carthage will host the Firebird Invite on Monday, April 29 at Strawberry Creek Golf Course.
