NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Carthage men's track & field team has been ranked 23rd in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Ratings Index presented by AthleticNET, the USTFCCCA announced Tuesday. The ratings are determined using a point system that values the national rankings of individual student-athletes in each program.

The Firebirds scored 87.16 points this week and are the only ranked team from the CCIW. Carthage is one of six teams ranked from the North Region, along with UW-La Crosse (1), Bethel (Minn.) (2), UW-Oshkosh (8), UW-Eau Claire (9), and UW-Platteville (15).

Joseph White continues to lead the Firebirds and is ranked first in the country in the shot put (18.32m), third in discus (54.40m), and sixth in the hammer throw (60.10m). Lucas Leal currently ranks eighth in hammer (59.43m), while Jacob Brost ranks 30th (55.00m). The Firebirds 4x100m relay team, which featured Tre Mitchell III, Mac Anderson, Jaylan Nelson, and Dylan Parker is currently ranked 35th (41.74). Micah Anderson enters the 3,000m steeplechase rankings in 35th (9:19.57).
